South Carolina Commission for Minority Affairs is a non-cabinet state agency signed into law by Governor Carrol A. Campbell, Jr. in 1993 to "study the causes and effects of the socio-economic deprivation of minorities in the State and to implement programs necessary to address inequities confronting them." Their vision is for all ethnic minority citizens of the State of South Carolina to be treated equitably and achieve economic prosperity through socio-cultural awareness, collaboration, policy change, and research.
